Biography
He is a legendary voice actor loved by three generations for his roles as Suneo in the original Doraemon anime, Girene Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam, and Hiroshi Sakura (Tomosaka) in Chibimaru-chan. His ability to perfectly portray contrasting characters, from Suneo's sarcastic laughter to Girene's grandiose declaration of dictatorship, is unparalleled. He passed away in January 2012 at the age of 76, and his voice for Suneo is still said to be irreplaceable.
Path to Becoming a Voice Actor
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, he joined the Bishojo Association and began his career in stage and radio dramas in 1958, and has been active since the early days of anime.
Personality
Many co-stars testify that despite Suneo's cunning nature, Aono was a broad-minded and warm-hearted person. He was a person with a strong belief that he lived through his voice.
