Biography

Honizumi Rina is a female voice actress from Fukushima Prefecture, born on February 4, 1993. She graduated from Tokyo Animation College in 2013 and began her voice acting career, making her debut in the game 'Bravely Default: Praying Brage' (Kuri Obriage role) in the same year. For several years after her debut, she played numerous unnamed roles (moe roles) such as 'customer', 'student', and 'store clerk'. In 2017, she landed her first leading role as Saika Nanaho in 'The Matchmaker is My Former Student, Strong-Willed, Troublemaker', and in 2018, she was cast as Yakuji Sayaka/Cure Ange in the nationally beloved series 'Hugtto! Precure', significantly boosting her popularity. This performance earned her the 13th Seiyuu Award for Newcomer Female Actor in 2019. Since then, she has continued to play leading roles such as Shisiri in 'The Wise Grandson', Yona in 'Pandora', Ohagi in 'Kyouen', Arai Rei in 'Taisou Samurai', and Aoki Tokiko in 'Yakunara Mug Cup Mo'. In 2020, she began playing Hinomori Shizuku in the rhythm game 'Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku', a role that has sustained her popularity. In 2021, she voiced the new protagonist Rivet in 'Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart' for PS5, and in 2024, she will voice Asebi in 'The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master'. Path to Becoming a Voice Actor

During her middle school days, she was immersed in table tennis club activities. Although she joined the table tennis club in high school, she soon became a ghost member. During her high school years, when she was unsure about her future, she became interested in the job of a voice actress, which was related to her favorite music and anime. With no experience or confidence in voice acting, she chose to attend Tokyo Animation College to learn the basics, graduating in March 2013 and joining 81 Produce.

Personality

Her nickname is 'Hon-chan'. Her hobbies include guitar and dance, and she is an only child. She cites Sailor Moon's Hotaru Tomoe as a character that resembles her and expresses a desire to play a mysterious girl. Her soft and transparent voice quality, along with her solid acting skills honed through playing moe roles, are her trademarks.
